To All Pet Owners, my husband and I have over 3 decades of owning dogs, dogs, birds, dogs, dogs, birds, and dogs, dogs, dogs. At this time in our lives, we have no family to sit with our dogs when needed, nor neighborhood friends who can take them in their homes. We have relied on boarding at our Vets, but always preferred to have our dogs remain in our home. We tried that too, and just did not work out - people not being with our dogs when they said they would, charging us when not here (found on video camera), and more unsatisfactory experiences. Still, we searched on, committed to find "the right and best place" for our new dogs: puppy Ogden, with us now for 4 mos, and 8 yo adopted Molly, with us now for 5 months and immediately loved Ogden as her own. They are both happy, healthy and loving life with us - we had to find a loving home that would care for them as we do. And we found them: Jen McKay's Nuts About Mutts!!! We found her business card in our neighborhood park where we walk and run our dogs and my husband saved them, and made the call the day before our trip, for which we were planning boarding at our Vets when I just was so worried to leave them because they would have to board longer than needed, but also caging them up. We called Jen at 8am and by 11am we were at her beautiful, comfortable, welcoming and pet-safe home for us and our bassets to meet her and see her home. We made the decision then to have our Ogden and Molly stay with her the next day for the duration of our trip with Jen's newly adopted 8 yo Nala, and another pup - Magnolia - 3 girls with our boy Ogden. Jen's intake process was refreshing - crossing all the "T's" and dotting all the "i's" for assuring their seamless care in her family home. Ogden sniff out toys, toys, toys, while Molly sniffed out food and treats. Jen provided such a welcoming and comforting home environment that was fully set up for a safe and secure temporary home for mutts! It was obvious from the start how much Jen loves pets and to have them in her family home from the toys, safe chews, bedding, room to roam-run-play inside and outside, and places to rest and sleep. While Molly is not one to sleep in bed with us, Ogden does. And Ogden slept in bed with her. Jen updated us throughout the days and evenings and sent pictures.

We are 200% happy with her care of our new family and know that Jen McKay is the pet sitter that we have been searching for all these years - to be able to leave our pups with her and have full confidence in her care for them is the desire we all have and share in common - to know they will be in a loving environment and will have loving hands on them until our return.

Jen was fully accessible to us, to drop off and pick up - even into the night. If she had to evacuate while we were gone overseas, across the country, our dogs would be with her - that is the confidence she provides to pet owners. We have promised Ogden and Molly that Jen's home will be their second home in St. Pete FL - for short and long stays and day care to play with others and have more friends.

Unfortunately the friend who was supposed to watch my dog while I was gone on a work trip got sick so I reached out to Jennifer very last min. I found her sight through a quick google Search for dog boarding in the area. Thank god I did! She was so understanding and walked me through all of the services and options. I’m new to Fl and it was such a relief to be in such good hands. My dog loves her. She provided photos and updates as well! We hired Jen to do afternoon and evening pop ins with our senior pup Roxy while spend the weekend at the St. Pete Grand Prix. Jen was AMAZING!! Jen is so good with my dog, Scout. He is very uncomfortable around people that are not his parents, but he has no issues with Jen, which is rare for him. I love that we can trust her to take care of Scout, and we don’t have to worry about anything going wrong. She gives him lots of walks and he always comes home nice and tired. I appreciate that she is so responsive and provides frequent updates throughout his stay. She is hands-down the most reliable dog sitter I’ve ever used, and we go out of our way (literally, we live almost an hour away) to take our dog there when we need a sitter. I truly can’t thank Jennifer enough for the amazing care she provided to my dog, Duke! He is a 90 pound momma’s boy and sometimes nervous around new people so I was very anxious about having someone other than family stay overnight with him. This was our first time leaving our anxious and reactive dog with someone outside of our close friends/colleagues and when I say Jax absolutely LOVED Jennifer I mean he literally kept starring back at her home until we reached the stop sign down the street! He had so much fun and was well taken care of, you could definitely tell through the pictures/updates she sends throughout the day! Leaving our pup is always leaves me a bit nervous but I felt 100% comfortable with her care. Definitely will be rebooking when Jax needs a little vacay from home lol! Thank you, Jennifer! :)

I've known Jennifer for over 20 years; she met our family following my retirement from the Army to a base where she was a helicopter pilot. During that timeframe, approximately three years, she worked as a volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter where we both served on the Board of Directors. She also became the parent of two English Mastiffs, Sam and Lobo. It's not an exaggeration to say that either of her dogs outweighed her by 100 pounds, but they behaved so well under her expert care and handling. Eventually the military needed her elsewhere, and without a second thought, she started house-hunting for accommodations for the three of them. That's a level of dedication that I rarely see. Eventually she was assigned overseas, and by this time, she had said goodbye to Sam and Lobo as she helped them across Rainbow Bridge, and George, her new English Mastiff went with her. That's not only a huge logistical issue, but also an expensive one; you must love dogs a great deal to take on responsibilities like that. She is retiring now, but her love for dogs is still there. We have trusted her with our pups on several occasions, knowing that they're being watched over just as we would. If you use her to watch over your fur babies, I promise you that you will never regret it!
